MINING
Coal:
Coal, a sedimentary rock composed mainly of carbon, is used to produce electricity or heat through combustion. It currently meets nearly a third of the world’s energy needs and produces approximately 40% of global electricity. Coke, a fuel usually derived from coal is used for smelting iron ore during steel manufacturing.
We work with traders in South Africa with vast experience in the supply and trading in coal. South African coal is trading globally with over 255m tonnes produced annually supplying 92 of the coal in Africa.
We can meet a wide range of customer requirements in terms of specific origins and grades, for both steam coal and anthracite. Our logistics network uses a dedicated fleet of dry bulk vessels operated on time charter.
ENERGY PRODUCTS
Solar:
E&M entered the alternative energy sector in 2010, trading in mono and poly crystalline solar cells. Our goal was to meet the increased demand for solar power across Europe, a booming sector due to the European solar subsidies.

LPG:
With E&M’s network of refineries based in Russia, we are able to supply and market liquefied petroleum gas in large quantities. We also act as sales representative for one of the world’s leading suppliers of gas processing and production technologies.
These technologies include various absorbents to increase the reliability and efficiency of the processing plant as well as gas separation and purification technologies.
Bitumen:
With E&M’s network of refineries based in Russia, we are able to supply and market bitumen in large quantities to industrial end users.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
Wheat:
E&M is a participant in the global wheat business. E&M recently won a government tender to supply 30,000 MT of wheat (various grades) into Latin America. These activities are co-ordinated through the London office and the products sourced throughout the world.
Edible Oils:
E&M is a supplier of refined sunflower and beet oils sourced in Asia and Eastern Europe with an international customer base.

Fertilizers:
E&M through its agricultural department,t supplies agricultural fertilizers to government or state departments, working with some of the world’s leading chemical companies, to ensure they meet ever increasing demand for basic food stuffs through higher crop yields.
METAL PRODUCTS
Steel:
E&M’s trading operations originated in the steel sector, buying and selling various grades of steel from suppliers in the US and Latin America.
Originally concentrating on scrap steel like HMS 1 & 2, shredded scrap and cast iron, E&M has moved into trading in processed steel products including steel billets.
E&M through it's asset transfer and joint venture which it will soon exit, has transferred all rights and assets under it's steel division. Copper:
E&M supplies some of the leading commodities companies with non ferrous metals including copper, lead and zinc. The metals are sourced in the United States and processed in Latin America ready for shipment and supply to our customers in Europe.
